Comprehensive FAQs About the CDCP

What is the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP)?

Launched in December 2023, the CDCP is designed to alleviate financial barriers to oral health care for Canadians lacking private insurance, with an income below $90,000.

What dental services does Saberton offer under the CDCP?

Saberton's offers broad spectrum teeth replacement services eligible under the CDCP. From regular denture cleanings, repairs, and relines to more intricate procedures like new and replacement denture fittings and referrals for oral surgeries. Saberton partners with local dentists to facilitate more comprehensive dental care (ex: extractions and oral surgery for implant posts) for all eligible patients.

Will Saberton charge me if I am enrolled in CDCP?

The CDCP covers dental services at predetermined fees. All we need is for you to present your CDCP members card. While Saberton is proud to provide very competitive charges, some patients might face additional costs if treatment needs are more complex. Additionally, some CDCP members have a co-pay depending on their income, which is required by the CDCP plan. Saberton provides transparent billing to all our patients to help understand any and all additional charges.

Saberton is a registered provider and can electronically submit treatment costs to Sun Life and facilitate the CDCP claims process. All Saberton needs is a copy of the patient enrolment card to interact on their behalf with CDCP.

In-Depth Look at CDCP Eligibility and Coverage

Eligibility for CDCP is confirmed annually. Eligibility may change year-to-year depending on governmental direction. Currently, to be eligible for CDCP, applicants must not have access to other dental insurance, and have household income below $90,000.

Income criteria and the lack of other coverage are pivotal in determining eligibility. Saberton helps clarify these aspects, ensuring patients recognize their eligibility status and the scope of coverage under the CDCP.
